Founded in Faith-Building on Excellence Capital Campaign
Capitol Campaign Progress
Locker rooms in McMahon Gym are being renovated!
Throughout summer 2024, the girls and boys are being completely renovated with modern updates as part of the renovation project!
We now have Air Conditioning in McMahon Gym!
This project was completed in the fall of 2023, and also brought the necessary power from the Fine Arts Building to the gym that will be needed for the new Event Center!
We still need your help to build the Event Center!
Imagine a Seton Catholic Preparatory campus with its own sprawling Event Center! This facility will provide a place where
- students can gather for Mass;
- alumni can attend reunions and Hall of Fame honoree events;
- our Seton Catholic community can gather for parent and student activities, and
- our many athletic teams can practice without having to stay into the late hours on a school evening!
The new Seton Catholic Event Center will make this a reality. The Founded in Faith — Building on Excellence capital campaign focuses on the new building, as well as the renovation of our existing McMahon Gymnasium.
When the state-of-the-art Event Center debuts, it will include:
- two floors spanning more than 50,000 square feet,
- a spacious lobby,
- two concession areas and
- new rooms for weightlifting, film review and spin class.
Renovations to our existing McMahon Gymnasium include:
- expanded Cheer Room with higher ceilings to allow for stunts,
- expanded Wrestling room,
- upgraded Girls and Boys Locker Rooms, and most importantly
- AIR CONDITIONING which our students, parents and staff are already benefitting from.
The Event Center will also include a sound booth, a warming kitchen for catering prep and storage areas for tables, chairs and equipment for facility rentals. We envision this space to be where community members can come for corporate gatherings and other revenue-generating meetings.
What does it mean to our athletes and fans to have A/C? Find out here:
We continually strive for excellence at Seton Catholic Preparatory. The Founded in Faith – Building on Excellence campaign will honor former Seton Catholic students and families, excite current Sentinels, transform our campus and engage our civic community for generations to come. I invite you to join us in prayer and support to ensure the foundation of excellence, the pursuit of knowledge, and the love for others shines brightly in our Event Center and throughout the Seton Catholic community.

We are here to answer your questions.
Q. When does the campaign officially begin?
A. We are currently in the quiet phase of the campaign, working behind the scenes on preparation, recruiting, training and campaign materials. The campaign will officially kick-off in late summer/early fall. Keep an eye out for more information and other campaign details over the next several months.
Q. Can I pledge over time?
A. Our campaign offers a wide range of gift opportunities to participate at all levels. Because our needs are urgent we encourage you to complete your pledge within three years, but accommodations can be made if needed. Pledges payable over three years allow donors to consider more substantial commitments than are possible with one-time cash gifts.
Q. Is my pledge legally binding? Will it be confidential?
A. A pledge to support the Founded in Faith - Building on Excellence Capital Campaign is not legally binding. Our hope is that you make a commitment that you consider to be meaningful. All pledges will be kept confidential with only the people responsible for maintaining campaign records having access to your pledge details.
Q. Can trust and estate gifts be made to the campaign?
A. Yes. While our primary needs require immediate funding, if a donor offers a planned gift, we will accept all deferred gifts and apply them to the endowment-building portion of the campaign. Gifts from donor-advised funds and private foundations are also welcome and will be applied to the capital projects.
Q. Are campaign gifts tax deductible?
A. As a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, campaign gifts to Seton Catholic Preparatory are tax-deductible. Donors with specific questions regarding tax deductibility should contact their professional tax advisors.
Q. What are some benefits for making a gift?
A. While cash gifts are deductible for those who qualify, some popular gift options for donors are: Gifts of highly appreciated securities (stock) may provide donors with additional tax savings by avoiding capital gains tax and qualifying for a charitable tax deduction.
An individual age 70 1/2 or older can transfer up to $100,000 from their IRA to the campaign and satisfy the required minimum annual distribution- without paying taxes on the withdrawal.
Q. How soon will construction begin on the new Event Center?
A. Providing that the campaign is as successful as we believe it will be, we plan to break ground in 2023 and have the construction of the Event Center and renovation of McMahon Gym completed within 18-24 months. We are speeding up the process to be able to take advantage of cost savings by being able to purchase material to complete the construction and have the least amount of disruption to the school, as one project.
