Dear Parents,
Greetings! I hope that this message finds you well in anticipation of the Christmas Holiday!
I am writing to make you aware of the fact that we will begin the second semester on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in the two day hybrid schedule that can be found here: SCP Two Day Hybrid Schedule.
Please know that our plan is to run the hybrid two day schedule for the first two weeks of the semester and evaluate our scheduling plans moving forward from there. Our desire is to be in-person as soon as we reasonably can but we will continue to be cautionary in light of the numbers affected by COVID-19 in our Seton community.
Attached to this email is a Second Semester Hybrid Survey that we ask that you complete by December 30, 2020 for each student that is attending Seton. Please indicate whether your student will be attending either online or in-person during the Two-Day Hybrid.
While it has been a challenging first semester, we have hope that we will all be stronger and more resilient as a result of this experience. As we begin the second semester, we are planning to be more proactive than reactive by working specifically on the improvement plan that we developed out of the Western Catholic Education Association self-study we completed last spring. To that end, we will be:
- reviewing and revising our Mission and Goals,
- expanding the Academic Resource Center student support programs,
- reviewing and revising our daily schedule to provide student choice of time for intervention and tutorial assistance,
- developing staff development plans to support teachers in the development and implementation of intervention supports and student support programming,
- reviewing and revising curriculum guides and end-of-course assessments,
- revising and updating the technology plan, and
- developing a plan to expand material resources and increase student enrollment.
You will hear more of these plans in the coming days as we will be seeking your input on these important issues.
On behalf of the staff, know that it has been an honor to serve both you and your children. The patience and grace that has characterized our approach and your response during the pandemic has helped us to get through this trying time. Les escribo para informarles que comenzaremos el segundo semestre el martes 5 de enero del 2021 en el horario híbrido de dos días que se puede encontrar aquí: SCP Two Day Hybrid Schedule.
Tenga en cuenta que nuestro plan es llevar a cabo el programa híbrido de dos días durante las primeras dos semanas del semestre y evaluar nuestros planes de programación a partir de ahí. Nuestro deseo es estar en persona tan pronto como podamos, pero seguiremos siendo cautelosos a la luz de los números afectados por COVID-19 en nuestra comunidad de Seton.
Se adjunta a este correo electrónico una encuesta híbrida del segundo semestre que le pedimos que complete antes del 30 de diciembre del 2020 para cada estudiante que asiste a Seton. Indique si su estudiante asistirá en línea o en persona durante el programa híbrido de dos días.
Si bien ha sido un primer semestre desafiante, tenemos la esperanza de que todos seremos más fuertes y más resistentes como resultado de esta experiencia. Al comenzar el segundo semestre, planeamos ser más proactivos que reactivos trabajando específicamente en el plan de mejora que desarrollamos a partir del autoestudio de la Asociación de Educación Católica Occidental que completamos la primavera pasada. Con ese fin, estaremos:
- revisando nuestra Misión y Metas,
- expandiendo los programas de apoyo estudiantil del Centro de Recursos Académicos,
- revisando y modificando nuestro horario diario para brindar a los estudiantes la opción de tiempo para la intervención y asistencia tutorial,
- Desarrollar planes para la formación adicional de maestros, destinados a apoyar las diversas necesidades de los estudiantes.
- revisando las guías del plan de estudios y las evaluaciones de fin de curso,
- revisando y actualizando el plan tecnológico y
- desarrollando un plan para expandir los recursos materiales y aumentar la inscripción de estudiantes.
Escuchará más sobre estos planes en los próximos días, ya que estaremos buscando su opinión sobre estos importantes temas.
En nombre del personal, sepa que ha sido un honor servirle a usted y a sus hijos. La paciencia y la gracia que han caracterizado nuestro enfoque y su respuesta durante la pandemia nos han ayudado a superar estos momentos difíciles. ¡Les deseamos a todos una feliz temporada Navideña!
