Dear Seton Catholic Class of 2020 and Parents,
Let me be the first to congratulate you on finishing your final semester at Seton! We are proud of your accomplishment! We were hoping and praying that things might change so that we could host the end of the year events for you and your families. However, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases throughout the state in the last week, we are unable to safely host the prom, senior picnic and senior brunch. We are all very disappointed and I know this is not the news we had hoped for, but your health and safety comes first. Please know that our focus continues to be on our baccalaureate mass and graduation ceremony scheduled for June 30, 2020. Please also know that we might have to limit the number of attendees to conform with acceptable distancing practices in the church. Additional information will go out as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Mr. Serna
Dear Students and Parents of the Class of 2020,
We have been closely monitoring the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on our senior events and we started discussing contingency plans last week. Helping our graduating class experience their senior events is a top priority for us and we are doing everything within our power to give our students a proper end to their senior year. Please note that both Prom and Senior Brunch have been postponed at this time. Graduation forms were due last week, but we are working on an electronic version since the office is currently closed.
There are several factors out of our control and the biggest one is that we do not know when large group gatherings will be appropriate or allowed. I know this has caused fear and anxiety among our students and families and I ask for your patience and prayers as we work through these challenging times. I promise to do everything humanly possible to host our senior events, but we need to recognize that there will be postponements and that events may look different than in years past.
Senior students, you need to make sure you remain focused on your academics and behavior so that you do not jeopardize your participation in senior events. I will send updates regarding senior events as more information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Victor Serna
Principal
